Higherlife Foundation joins the conversation at Africa Code Week Burundi

Since its launch in 2015 by SAP, Africa Code Week (ACW) has become the single biggest coding event worldwide, engaging over 4 million youth and 50,000 teachers on digital learning.

During the Burundi edition,  our very own Cynthia Nikobamye, Senior Associate – Burundi SBU, took to the stage to express support for Africa Code Week and highlighted Higherlife Foundation’s commitment to ICT education, youth empowerment, and digital learning.

“The world is rapidly changing, and the jobs of the future will require our youth to have strong digital skills,” Cynthia remarked.

At the close of the week’s events, Africa Code Week Ambassador to Burundi and BIHUB Manager, Ms Natacha Nduwimana, thanked all partners, volunteers and government for their commitment to promoting ICT as a driver of socio-economic development

“15 to 20 million increasingly well-educated young people are expected to join the African workforce every year for the next three decades. If we want to be able to convert the youth dividend of Burundi, it is imperative that we bring together the right ecosystem for quality jobs – and provide the skills that go with them,” Ms Natacha Nduwimana highlighted.
